Festival Day

The Festival Day is the grand finale RiceFest event that takes places immediately following the parade. There will be a rice cook-off, vendor row, kids zone, exhibits, musical entertainment, and more. 

Opening Ceremony begins at 10:30 a.m. with the event kick-off at 11 a.m. This year’s opening act will be TG Live of Savannah, GA (Old School/Pop/R&B) and Special Formula Band of Jacksonville, FL (Old School/Funk) with headliner Brick (Old School/Funk). Other entertainment will also be available throughout the duration of the event.

This event is FREE and OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.

2017 RiceFest Parade

Come celebrate the rich heritage of the City of Riceboro while learning about "The Hidden Figures of Riceboro." 

The parade will start from the assembly area at the Riceboro Youth Center on U.S. Highway 17/Coastal Highway. It will continue up South Coastal Highway past Riceboro City Hall and end at Jones Street across from Riceboro Church of God. All floats will exit on Jones Street.

RiceFest Homecoming

The RiceFest Homecoming will be a night to remember as old and new friends come together to celebrate with the City of Riceboro. Guests will have access to food, music, comedy and more right in the city of Riceboro. This is an adult-only event.

Here is what you need to know:

Featuring Barbara Carlyle and the Real Housewives of Comedy. 

Music by Special Formula Band.

Food by K&C Catering.

Advanced tickets may be picked up at Riceboro City Hall 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Monday - Friday until Nov. 10, 2017.

Only 300 tickets are available and they are sold on a first-come, first-served basis.

Cost is $15 per person in advance and $20 per person at the door. (Note: $1 processing fee added to online orders.

Riceboro GospelFest

The Riceboro RiceFest Committee has organized the 3rd annual Riceboro GospelFest for your listening pleasure. The legendary Melvin Williams along with local Gospel recording artists will take the stage for a night of Gospel entertainment and fun.

Cost to attend is $10 per person in advance and refreshments will be available for purchase.

2017 Liberty RiceFest Pageant

The Liberty RiceFest pageant is open to girls between the ages of 13 - 19. During the event, you will witness young ladies demonstrate knowledge of the Gullah Geechee culture, confidence, and performing art skills as they compete for the title of Miss Liberty RicesFest.

Youth Essay Contest

Theme:  "In My Own Words" 

Official Rules
1. Essay must be written expressly for the RiceFest Essay Contest.
2. Each essay must be accompanied by an individual entry form.
3. Proofread your essay for spelling, punctuation, and grammar.
3. Choose your own topic and title for your essay and write in your own words what the topic means to you.
4. Essay must be double spaced with 12 point font in Times News Roman. 
5. Do not illustrate your entry with pictures or diagrams.
6. Submit only original copies of your essay.  Photocopy, newspaper clippings, or duplicates are not acceptable.
7. Do not put your name on any page of your entry.
8. Fill out the entry form completely.  Note that all information should be type or printed except signature.  
9. Staple the entry form to the upper right corner of the essay. Entry form must be in front.
10. Your entry should be sent or submitted in a single envelope.
11. Your entry will not be returned and becomes the property of the Riceboro RiceFest.  
12. All essays must be free of plagiarism.
13. First place essay winners in each age group will be published in the Ricefest Booklet and displayed on as well as other media outlets.  Each entry form must have signature of parent or legal guardian.
14. Your entry must be postmarked or delivered in person no later than October 16, 2017.

1. Students must be enrolled in Liberty County School System.
2. Student must be enrolled in grades 5 -12.
